The sensor to measure under ground water flow has a tubular shape with a heater being embedded in the center and 16 temperature sensors being placed in a circular arrangement. When the under ground water flows over the sensor unit, the heater inside instrument will heat the water. Thus the temperature-modulated flow has a unique temperature distribution in related to flow speed and direction, which can be monitored by 16 temperature sensors arranged circularly. The probe can be used in the underground stratum with well diameter similar to bowling.
